An explosion suspected to be caused by dynamite rocked the All Progressives Congress (APC) secretariat along Aba Road in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, early Saturday morning, shattering nearby buildings and properties. The blast tore down the gate of the secretariat, destroying doors, windows, and other structures in its wake.

This marks the second attack this year on the APC’s headquarters led by Chief Tony Okocha. The incident occurred as local government elections are set to begin today, with the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) confirming on Friday that all sensitive election materials had been successfully distributed across the state.

A video from the scene, shared widely on social media, shows staff inspecting the extent of the destruction caused by the explosion.

When approached, Grace Iringe-Koko, the spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, noted that she had not yet received an official report but assured that an update would follow. The APC has yet to release an official statement on the incident.
