Nigerian music heavyweights Burna Boy and Odumodublvck have earned prestigious nominations at the 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards, representing the country’s ever-growing presence on the global stage.

Odumodublvck, who broke into mainstream success in 2023, has continued his meteoric rise as one of Africa’s biggest hip hop stars. He’s the only Nigerian artist nominated in the Best International Flow category, where he’ll be competing with top rappers from France, Brazil, the UK, and South Africa. If victorious, Odumodublvck could become the first Nigerian rapper to win a BET Hip Hop Award.

Burna Boy, a global superstar, secured a nomination for Best Live Performer. He’s up against some of the biggest names in hip hop, including Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott, Nicki Minaj, Busta Rhymes, and Missy Elliott.

Their nominations reflect the global impact Nigerian artists continue to have, not just in Afrobeats but also in the hip hop world. The full list of nominees also includes heavyweights like 21 Savage, Cardi B, and Megan Thee Stallion across various categories.
