The Kano State Judicial Service Commission has taken decisive steps to maintain the integrity of its judicial system, sanctioning eight staff members for misconduct. These actions include recalling two Shariah Court judges and enforcing compulsory retirements for two court registrars. The sanctions stemmed from a thorough investigation by the Judiciary Public Complaint Committee (JPCC), which examined multiple allegations of judicial misconduct.

Magistrate Nasir Ado was recalled after being found guilty of falsifying court records, while Sharia court judge Yusuf Kawu was also recalled for unlawfully releasing a convict. Additionally, Magistrate Sanusi Usman Atana received a warning after overstepping his jurisdiction on two occasions.

The commission has also directed the compulsory retirement of Salisu Adamu Nayola, Finance Registrar of Kiru Sharia Court, for accepting bribes. In connection with this, Abdulmuminu Nuhu, another Sharia judge, was recalled for two years due to his involvement in the bribery case. Two other judicial officers, Alkali Abubakar Abdullahi and court messenger Shuaibu Bello, faced warnings or suspensions for misconduct, including handling cases outside their jurisdiction and engaging in corrupt practices.

The Kano Judicial Service Commission has reiterated its commitment to upholding the law and ensuring the judicial system operates with full accountability, vowing to remain vigilant in addressing misconduct within its ranks.
