The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has taken significant steps to enforce environmental regulations by sealing off multiple prayer centers and businesses throughout Lagos State. This action was confirmed in a statement by Tokunbo Wahab, the Lagos State Commissioner for the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, on Wednesday via X.com.

In a bid to uphold environmental laws and protect public health, LASEPA’s enforcement operation targeted establishments that had been found in violation of these regulations, despite prior warnings. Areas such as Ikeja, Mushin, Gbagada, and Maryland were particularly affected.

Among the establishments that faced closure were Vital Products Limited, A & P Nigeria Limited, Polite Anchorage and Suites, Redeemed Christian Church of God, Terrag Inn Apartment, Evening Class Guest House, Celestial Church of God, a printing press, Charley’s Bar, and 7th Heaven Hotel & Suites.

Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, General Manager of LASEPA, emphasized the agency’s commitment to a zero-tolerance policy regarding environmental non-compliance. He urged all businesses to recognize their environmental responsibilities and collaborate with the state government to foster a cleaner and more sustainable Lagos.
