Argentine prosecutors have revealed that One Direction star Liam Payne consumed cocaine, alcohol, and a prescription antidepressant shortly before his tragic fall from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires on October 16. According to the prosecutor’s office, toxicological tests showed that Payne had traces of polydrug use in his system, spanning at least the final 72 hours of his life.

The death of the 31-year-old singer, who was found lying outside the CasaSur Hotel, has left fans and family members devastated. An autopsy confirmed that Payne died from “multiple traumas” and “internal and external hemorrhaging” due to the fall.

Prosecutors have charged three individuals for their involvement in supplying Payne with drugs. One of the suspects, who had been with the singer during his stay, is accused of both supplying narcotics and abandoning Payne in a vulnerable state. A second suspect, a hotel employee, allegedly provided him with cocaine twice. A third individual is also charged with supplying the singer with the drug just days before his death.

The investigation ruled out any possibility of self-harm or foul play, stating that Payne’s injuries were consistent with those caused by a fall, and he was likely unconscious or disoriented at the time.

Following the incident, hotel staff contacted emergency services after reporting that the singer was intoxicated and damaging his room. Payne’s body was repatriated to the UK, where his family continues to mourn his passing.

Payne’s death has sparked conversations about the mental health pressures faced by young stars in the music industry. He had previously spoken about his struggles with substance abuse and the challenges of growing up in the public eye.
