On November 6, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) conducted a series of successful airstrikes, resulting in the elimination of 70 terrorists on Kwallaram and Arianna Ciki islands in Borno State. These strikes were carried out following credible intelligence about terrorist activities in the region. According to Major General Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, these operations are part of an ongoing effort to address the security challenges facing the country.

In the past week, Nigerian troops have made notable progress, neutralizing 169 terrorists and arresting 641 criminals. A significant recovery effort was also made, with 192 high-caliber weapons seized, including 106 AK47 rifles, 38 fabricated rifles, and 26 dane guns, alongside a variety of ammunition. Troops also found 2,970 rounds of ammunition in different calibers.

While the operations in Borno marked a significant blow to the terrorist groups, the security forces also targeted criminal activities in the Niger Delta. Here, troops destroyed 83 illegal refining sites and arrested 40 oil thieves. In total, over 900,000 liters of stolen crude oil and other petroleum products were recovered. Additionally, several items used in illegal refining were destroyed, including crude oil ovens, boats, storage tanks, and pumping machines.
