Nigerian Army Launches Strategic Training to Boost Tactical Command and Leadership Skills

In a move to strengthen national security, the Nigerian Army has initiated a three-day capacity-building training program aimed at enhancing the tactical command and leadership skills of senior officers. The event is taking place at the 6 Division Headquarters in Port Harcourt.
The training, which runs from September 24th to 26th, 2024, focuses on improving operations planning and modern warfare strategies. Major General Jamal Abdusallam, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 6 Division and Commander of the Land Component of the Joint Task Force South-South, Operation Delta Safe, highlighted the importance of continuous professional development in military leadership.

Addressing the officers, Major General Abdusallam emphasized the need for adaptability in response to the evolving security landscape, which includes insurgency, terrorism, and internal security challenges. He also stressed the critical role of technology, particularly in cyberspace, as a key component in modern military operations.
