The Founder of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, has appealed to opposition parties to work alongside the Federal Government in fostering national development through constructive ideas and proposals. During an NNPP Independence Day anniversary stakeholders meeting held on Tuesday in Lagos, Dr. Aniebonam emphasized that mere criticism would not resolve Nigeria’s pressing issues.

Dr. Aniebonam highlighted the responsibility of all political parties in Nigeria to contribute solutions aimed at overcoming the country’s myriad challenges. He stated, “While the Federal Government may not be performing at an exceptional level, there are areas where progress has been made. Democracy supports criticism, but it should not be aimed at creating divisions among the people and the government.”

Emphasizing national unity, he added, “Every Nigerian, including political parties, must place the country’s interests above personal ambitions for true progress to occur. Negative comments that tarnish the President’s reputation or incite the youth to engage in violence will only exacerbate our problems.”

Reflecting on the President’s recent speech, he noted, “There is hope for Nigeria. Every political party aims to gain power within their regions, and when the time comes for politicking, the NNPP will present our case to the electorate.”

He reassured party members that the primary focus remains on party growth, particularly following the resolution of internal disputes. “We are united and committed to advancing the party while offering necessary guidance to assist our nation,” he stated.

Dr. Aniebonam further urged individuals inciting youth protests to reconsider their actions, warning that violent demonstrations would have far-reaching consequences for all Nigerians.
