Nigerian street-hop sensation Portable has recently had a change of heart following heavy criticism for attacking a pastor.

In a viral video, the controversial artist was seen slapping a preacher near his bar in Sango Ota, Ogun State, sparking outrage, particularly among Christian communities. Many described the incident as an attack on the faith itself.

Initially, Portable defended his actions, stating that he was unaware the man was a pastor. He insisted that had he known, he would never have assaulted him.

However, Portable has now taken steps to seek forgiveness. In a heartfelt moment captured on video, the singer was seen tearfully apologizing during what appeared to be a spiritual gathering at his bar. With visible emotion, Portable asked for forgiveness from all pastors, saying in Yoruba, “Forgive me.” The artist seemed to be in an overwhelmed, spiritual state as he repented for his actions.

A pastor present in the video also offered his apologies on Portable’s behalf, asking fellow pastors to see the musician as one of their own, like a son who has gone astray.
