Russell Westbrook reached an extraordinary milestone by recording his 200th career triple-double, leading the Denver Nuggets to a 122-110 win over the Memphis Grizzlies. Westbrook, now 36 years old, added another significant achievement to his career, surpassing his own record for most triple-doubles in NBA history.

Finishing with 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 14 assists, Westbrook’s triple-double came in the final moments of the game. He was one rebound away when teammate Dario Saric missed a 3-pointer with 1:28 remaining. Westbrook grabbed the offensive rebound to seal the historic achievement. Saric then knocked down a clutch 3-pointer to ensure the win for Denver.

“I thank him for making the next one to close the game, which is the most important,” Westbrook humbly remarked, downplaying his role in the pivotal moment.

With his 200th triple-double, Westbrook extends his lead as the NBA’s all-time triple-double leader, now 19 ahead of Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson and 62 more than Magic Johnson. His closest competition includes Nikola Jokic, who has 136, and LeBron James with 117.

Reflecting on the accomplishment, Westbrook expressed gratitude for the journey, saying, “It’s a blessing. I’m truly grateful to be able to play the game (well enough) to do that. But I’m also appreciative of the ones who came before me.”

Westbrook’s teammates also marveled at his longevity and consistency. Second-year guard Julian Strawther commented on the achievement, saying, “Two hundred triple-doubles is a lot. I don’t even know if I’ve got 200 career games.”

For Westbrook, the milestone was a perfect complement to the team’s victory. “Anytime we win and I get them, I’m always grateful for that,” he said. “It’s my favorite time.
