The Super Eagles have kicked off their preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Abidjan, with Moses Simon and Samuel Chukwueze among the first players to report to camp on Monday. They were joined by six other players, including Amas Obasogie, Raphael Onyedika, Frank Onyeka, Bruno Onyemaechi, Gabriel Osho, and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru.

As the squad gathers ahead of their decisive matches against Benin Republic and Rwanda, Super Eagles Media Officer confirmed to the News Agency of Nigeria that at least eight players had already arrived, with others expected on Tuesday. The team’s captain, William Ekong, as well as top players like Ademola Lookman, Victor Osimhen, and the 19 other invited stars are set to join them in the coming days.

The Super Eagles will face Benin Republic on Thursday at the Stade Felix-Houphouet-Boigny in Abidjan, aiming to secure six points from their final two matches of the qualification campaign. Following the clash with the Cheetahs, the team will travel to Uyo for their final game against Rwanda at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.

Currently sitting at the top of Group D, Nigeria can secure their place in the 2025 AFCON with a draw against Benin Republic, which would bring their points total to 11. With only Rwanda left to threaten their position, the Super Eagles look to extend their unbeaten run and ensure a strong finish to the qualifiers.
