Tata Martino Resigns: Lionel Messi Awaits New Inter Miami Manager

Lionel Messi is set to play under a new manager next season as Gerardo “Tata” Martino steps down as head coach of Inter Miami CF. Martino, who had one year left on his contract, resigned due to personal reasons, leaving a vacancy that could shape the club’s future.
The announcement follows a challenging end to the season for Inter Miami, with their early exit in the MLS playoffs after a defeat to Atlanta United FC. Martino, a former Barcelona and Mexico manager, joined the team in June 2023, replacing Phil Neville. Despite the recent setback, his tenure marked significant achievements, including the 2023 Leagues Cup victory, the 2024 Supporters’ Shield, and a league-record point tally during the 2024 season.

Martino is expected to address the media in a Friday press conference, joined by Inter Miami co-owner Jorge Mas and president of football operations Raúl Sanllehi. As the team looks ahead, speculation will grow about who will take the reins of the club and lead Messi in the next chapter of his MLS journey.
