Vice President Kashim Shettima has landed in New York to represent Nigeria at the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). His arrival marks a significant moment for Nigeria as he engages with global leaders on pressing international issues.

A statement from Stanley Nkwocha, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Communications, confirmed that Shettima arrived at John F. Kennedy International Airport earlier today. He was warmly welcomed by key officials, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf M. Tuggar; Minister of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy, Dr. ‘Bosun Tijani; and Kashifu Inuwa, the Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), along with other Nigerian diplomats and UN officials.

Following the directive of President Bola Tinubu, Shettima will lead Nigeria’s delegation at this year’s UNGA, where he is scheduled to deliver the country’s national statement and participate in various high-level meetings addressing global challenges.

The Vice President departed Nigeria on Sunday, embarking on this vital diplomatic mission.
