Wike, FCDA Face N1bn Lawsuit Over Alleged Property Revocation in Abuja

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), alongside the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), is facing a N1 billion lawsuit over the alleged unlawful revocation of property owned by Green Lake International Limited. The property, located at Plot 2786 in the Maitama District, Abuja, was legally acquired by Green Lake in 2006, but its Certificate of Occupancy was revoked in 2009.
Green Lake claims that despite acquiring the property legally from the previous owner, Lodigiani Nigeria Limited, which had failed to develop it, the FCT Minister and FCDA revoked their rights.

The company is seeking compensation for alleged trespass and demands a court order to nullify the revocation and invalidate the certificate issued to the former owner. Additionally, Green Lake is seeking a declaration of ownership and the authority to evict trespassers from the property.
The case is set for hearing before Justice M.A. Hassan on November 19.
