Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has approved a salary increase for both teaching and non-teaching staff at Osun State University (UNIOSUN), with a boost of 25% and 35%, respectively.

Announcing this during the institution’s 14th convocation ceremony in Osogbo, Adeleke highlighted the university’s smooth operation due to its non-strike culture. He commended the workers for maintaining a tradition of “no aluta, no strikes,” which has kept the university functioning even when others faced disruptions.

Adeleke emphasized, “UNIOSUN has cultivated a unique tradition of avoiding strikes and unrest, reflecting not oppression or dictatorship, but the result of sound leadership at all levels of university governance.”

In line with his commitment to improving education in Osun State, Adeleke stressed that prioritizing workers’ welfare is key. “As part of our efforts to enhance education and support workers, we have approved a salary increase of 25% for teaching staff and 35% for non-teaching staff,” the governor added.

Prof. Clement Adebooye, the university’s Vice Chancellor, attributed the institution’s recent successes to hard work. He shared that UNIOSUN secured additional admissions for its Nursing and Law programs, expanding its intake from 4,500 to 7,405 students over the past year.
