Andrés Iniesta, a magician on the pitch, has announced his retirement at the age of 40, leaving a significant mark on Spanish football and fans worldwide. This morning, he shared a video hinting at a special event on August 8th in Barcelona, where he will formally announce his retirement.

Renowned as one of the greatest footballers in Spanish history, Iniesta’s illustrious career primarily unfolded at FC Barcelona. His remarkable skills have also made him a standout player in FIFA, where he has always been celebrated with top-tier ratings.

A Stellar Career in FIFA

Iniesta’s legacy includes leading the Spanish national team to victory with a memorable goal in the 2010 World Cup final held in South Africa. That same year, he debuted in Ultimate Team, starting with an impressive rating of 85. His extraordinary performance that season boosted his average rating to 89.

Throughout his time in FIFA, Iniesta consistently impressed players, achieving an average score of over 90 in 11 editions of the game. Only in the very first and last editions did he fall below this benchmark. A Potential Return to FC 25

After leaving Vissel Kobe in 2022, Iniesta has not made an appearance in any EA Sports games. His midfield partner, Xavi, has already secured a Legend card in FC 24. Fans are eager to see if Iniesta will join him. While it’s uncertain whether he will receive a special card for the 2025 edition, developers are likely preparing to honor his legacy, potentially adding him to the list of legends in FC 25 or the 2026 edition.
