The All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued a stern warning to the civil society group Yiaga Africa, urging them to cease questioning the results of the recent gubernatorial election in Edo State. In a statement released by APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka, the party accused Yiaga Africa of overstepping its role as an election observer and attempting to function as a parallel authority in declaring election outcomes.

Morka specifically criticized Yiaga Africa for making unverified allegations of result manipulation, labeling their claims as unfounded and based on speculative data rather than concrete evidence. He stressed that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is the only body authorized to conduct elections and declare results, warning Yiaga Africa against creating confusion with questionable statistical analyses.

The APC expressed gratitude for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and INEC for facilitating a fair electoral process, reaffirming their belief that the results genuinely reflect the will of the Edo electorate, who supported Senator Monday Okpebholo for governor. Morka also advised any parties dissatisfied with the results to seek resolution through legal channels instead of resorting to public criticism.
