Extension of Voting Time in Areas with Delayed Commencement: INEC’s Commitment to Fair Elections in Edo State

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is closely monitoring the ongoing governorship election in Edo State from its situation room at the National Headquarters in Abuja.
Reports indicate that while voting began on time in many polling units, there have been delays in certain areas. In line with its commitment to ensure no voter is disenfranchised, INEC has reiterated that voting will be extended in any polling unit where the process started late. Voting will continue until every eligible voter in the queue by 2:30 PM has cast their ballot.
