APP Makes Strides in Jigawa, Wins Councillorship Seat After Rivers Success

The Action Peoples Party (APP) has marked a significant milestone in Nigerian politics with a new victory in Jigawa State. The party clinched a councillorship seat in the recent local government elections, building on its impressive success in Rivers State just last month. In Rivers, APP won 22 out of 23 chairmanship positions and 314 out of 317 councillorship seats, solidifying its growing influence.
Hon. Auwalu Muhammad Harbo, Chairman of the Jigawa State Independent Electoral Commission, confirmed the party’s triumph. On October 6, 2024, the commission officially awarded a certificate of return to Usman Alhaji Ali, the APP candidate elected as the councilor for the Buntusu ward in Gwiwa Local Government Area.

Expressing his gratitude for the support of the people of Gwiwa, APP National Chairman Barrister Uchenna Nnadi emphasized that the party’s success is a testament to its increasing presence in Nigerian politics. He assured the people that their newly elected councilor would bring effective and quality leadership to the region.
Nnadi also spoke confidently about the party’s future prospects, stressing that the victories in Jigawa and Rivers are only the beginning. “We are steadily moving forward, and I am optimistic that our elected officials will deliver on their promises and bring the dividends of democracy to the people,” he remarked.
