The Jigawa State Emergency Management Agency (JISEMA) has distributed vital relief materials to 210 families affected by the Majia tanker explosion in the Taura local government area. On Saturday, in Majia town, the agency provided various supplies to ease the burden of those impacted by the tragic incident.

The aid included 25kg bags of rice, millet, semolina, cartons of spaghetti, Maggi cubes, seasoning, soap, detergents, gallons of vegetable oil, and 110 rubber mats. The materials were donated by the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons, as well as the National Emergency Management Agency, alongside JISEMA.

Dr. Mairiga Haruna Mairiga, Executive Secretary of JISEMA, stated that the agency had organized the distribution to support the families who suffered from the explosion that took place in October. Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) after the distribution, Mairiga emphasized the importance of solidarity and government support during such a challenging time for the victims.

Among the beneficiaries, Mr. Muhammad Habibu, who lost a family member in the explosion, expressed gratitude for the relief materials, noting that the supplies would provide assistance during their time of loss. Mr. Auwal Abdullahi, whose son remains hospitalized at Rashid Shekoni Hospital in Dutse, also praised the efforts, stating that the materials would alleviate some of the difficulties faced due to the incident.

Both men, along with other recipients, thanked the federal and state governments, as well as generous individuals, for their support. They prayed for continued guidance for Governor Umar Namadi as he leads the state through these difficult circumstances.
