English youngster Jamie Bynoe-Gittens continued his rise across European football with a stellar performance for Borussia Dortmund in their 3-0 win over Club Brugge in the UEFA Champions League. Coming off the bench, the 20-year-old England U21 international scored twice, securing victory for the German side. His first goal came just 10 minutes after replacing Marcel Sabitzer, with a deflected shot following a clever cut inside. He then sealed the win with a clinical strike late in the match, bringing his season tally to four goals across all competitions. Dortmund capped the match with a 95th-minute penalty by Serhou Guirassy.

Elsewhere, Paris St-Germain overcame a sluggish start to defeat Girona 1-0, courtesy of a late own goal by goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga. Despite dominating possession and creating numerous chances, PSG struggled to break through until injury time, when Nuno Mendes‘ cross slipped under Gazzaniga’s body. The French side, eager to claim their first European Cup, will face Arsenal next in the competition on October 1.

In other matches, Sparta Prague began their Champions League campaign with a 3-0 thrashing of RB Leipzig, marking their biggest win in the competition since 1999. Early goals from Kaan Kairinen, Victor Olatunji, and Qazim Laci ensured Sparta took an emphatic victory. Meanwhile, Bologna and Shakhtar Donetsk played out a goalless draw, with Shakhtar’s Heorhiy Sudakov missing a penalty early in the match.
