Delta Police Successfully Rescue Kidnap Victims and Apprehend 34 Suspects

Operatives from the Delta State Police Command have made significant strides in tackling kidnapping in the Ughelli area, rescuing three victims and apprehending 34 suspects involved in the crime. This impressive operation was confirmed by the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, through a statement released on X.com.

The operation, led by ASP Julius Robinson, aimed to restore peace and security to Ughelli and surrounding areas. It resulted in the recovery of a significant cache of weapons and cash that had been extorted from the victims. According to Edafe, “This is the CP special assignment team (CSP SAT) deployed to Ughelli by CP Olufemi Abaniwonda. They have successfully brought calm to Ughelli and its environs.”

The operation yielded impressive results, including the recovery of seven AK-47 rifles, an AK-49 rifle, a G-3 rifle, six pump-action guns, 16 Beretta pistols, 88 rounds of ammunition, and a ransom of N5,500,000. The swift action has ensured that residents of Ughelli can now feel safer in their homes.

Edafe remarked, “This master stroke by CP Olufemi Abaniwonda has indeed made sure that residents in Ughelli, Warri, Sapele, Oghara, and surrounding areas can sleep soundly.”
