FG Approves Airstrip for Canaanland, Oyedepo Announces

The Federal Government has granted approval for the construction of an airstrip at Canaanland, the home of Faith Tabernacle, according to Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners Chapel). Oyedepo made the announcement during the Tehillah Night Special Edition at Covenant University Chapel, Ota, Ogun State.

Bishop Oyedepo shared the exciting news, highlighting how the airstrip will streamline his travels by allowing him to fly directly from the church premises, eliminating the need to visit external airports. “I am sure you will be glad to know that the Federal Government has approved an airstrip for Canaanland. I won’t need to fly a helicopter to the airport. I can leave from here to wherever I am going,” he told the congregation. He also mentioned that church members with planes would now have a designated area to land and park.

The airstrip is set to improve transportation for worshippers and visitors, particularly during major church programs, which often attract thousands of people from across the globe.

Bishop Oyedepo further encouraged his congregation to seek God’s plan for their lives, referencing Covenant University graduates who now serve as pilots for him. “There are captains that fly me who are graduates of Covenant University,” he noted. “This university is about helping you discover God’s plan and pursuing it. Young people, don’t play away your life—you don’t have a spare.”

The Tehillah Night special edition served as a thanksgiving service in honor of Bishop Oyedepo, who recently celebrated his 70th birthday in September.
