Nigerian music sensation Fireboy DML shared an intriguing behind-the-scenes story of recording his latest song, Back n Forth, with legendary artist Lagbaja. According to Fireboy, even during their studio session, Lagbaja remained true to his iconic persona, staying fully masked throughout the entire process.

Reflecting on the experience, Fireboy expressed his surprise, saying, “You wouldn’t believe it—[Lagbaja] was still masked up in the studio. It was crazy—I never got to see his face! I had the urge to ask him if I could, but then I realized, that’s just who he is. The name ‘Lagbaja’ in Yoruba means ‘Mr. Nobody,’ an anonymous figure, so it felt right that I didn’t see his face.”

Fireboy also highlighted how much it meant to collaborate with a legend like Lagbaja, stating, “Having him on this record is special.
