The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has made a significant mark in the 2024 Times Higher Education World University Rankings by securing a spot among Nigeria’s top 10 universities. The latest data, released by Times Higher Education, reveals a comprehensive overview of university performance globally, highlighting shifts in the higher education landscape.

Covenant University tops the list of Nigerian institutions, followed closely by the University of Ibadan and the Federal University of Technology, Akure. According to the report, the rankings utilize the new WUR 3.0 methodology, which assesses universities based on 18 meticulously calibrated performance indicators across five critical areas: teaching, research environment, research quality, industry engagement, and international outlook.

This year’s analysis involved evaluating over 134 million citations from 16.5 million research publications and gathering feedback from 68,402 scholars worldwide. In total, 411,789 data points were collected from more than 2,673 institutions, providing a robust foundation for the rankings.
