The 2025 GRAMMY Awards season is officially underway, with the highly awaited nomination ceremony scheduled for Friday, November 8, 2024. This year brings several important changes to the award categories as the Recording Academy seeks to keep up with the evolving music industry and ensure broader inclusivity.

Among the most notable updates is the introduction of a brand-new category: “Best Dance Pop Recording,” which replaces the previous “Best Pop Dance Recording.” In addition, the “Best Remixed Recording” category has been repositioned within the Pop & Dance/Electronic Field, aligning with the Academy’s vision of better representing various music genres.

Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. shared that these updates aim to reflect the dynamic and ever-changing music scene. The changes also include adjustments to the Songwriter of the Year category, allowing songwriters to qualify with fewer songs, thereby increasing recognition opportunities for a wider array of talented creators.

The nominations for the 67th GRAMMY Awards will be revealed live at http://live.GRAMMY.com, setting the stage for the ceremony on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Dubbed “Music’s Biggest Night,” the event will be broadcast live on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.

The Academy has also updated its eligibility and submission guidelines to ensure a more inclusive and transparent process. As industry professionals and fans eagerly await the nominees, the selection process has involved months of voting.
