Gunmen Kill Two, Injure Two Others in Ogun State Robbery Attack

In the early hours of Monday, a tragic robbery attack in Ogun State left two people dead and two others injured. At approximately 12:30 am, three armed men ambushed the occupants of a Mercedes Benz GLE 350 at the parking lot of Diamond Dumplings in the Government Reservation Area (GRA) of Abeokuta.
The gang, traveling in an unregistered black Toyota Hilux, confronted the victims and demanded the car keys. According to Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola, the assailants opened fire, hitting the victims before fleeing the scene.

Two of the victims, identified as Ola and Shobanke Oluwatimileyin, were confirmed dead at the hospital, while the other two are currently receiving medical treatment at the Federal Medical Centre in Abeokuta.
The Divisional Police Officer from Ibara promptly responded to the distress call, securing the area and ensuring the wounded were transported for urgent care.
A preliminary investigation has been launched to determine whether the killings are linked to cult activities, and authorities have pledged to update the public on the progress of the investigation.
