Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has declared that he remains unshaken by concerns about the 2026 governorship election, assuring that his faith in God and commitment to governance will guide his political journey. Speaking during the monthly Evening of Praise and Worship at the Jibowu Hall, Government House Grounds in Ado Ekiti on Friday night, Oyebanji addressed mounting anxieties expressed by some politicians about his re-election.

The governor urged his supporters and political allies to focus on serving the people rather than worrying about the next election. “I will not lose sleep over the development as God is in control,” Oyebanji said, emphasizing that his political future rests solely in God’s hands. He added, “What God does not give a man, he cannot have, and when God makes up his mind, nobody can stop him.”

Oyebanji further appealed to politicians to refrain from sending him text messages expressing concerns about his political prospects in 2026. According to him, his primary focus remains fulfilling the promises he made to the people of Ekiti State and ensuring good governance despite the challenging economic climate.

The governor expressed gratitude to God for the progress his administration has achieved since assuming office in 2022. Highlighting divine intervention as the driving force behind these accomplishments, Oyebanji said, “God that did the last one will do it again. Let us concentrate on the work we’ve been given and do it well.”

Responding to critics who question his political strategies, Oyebanji maintained his confidence in God’s guidance. “Some complain that I am not a politician and that I don’t understand politics. Nothing is going to stop my peace because I serve the God of peace,” he asserted.

The governor reassured the people of Ekiti that his administration remains focused on delivering impactful projects across critical sectors and working for the betterment of the state. He urged everyone to trust in God’s plan, which he believes will bring success at the right time.
