The International Organization for Migration (IOM), in partnership with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), successfully repatriated 180 Nigerians stranded in Libya. The group landed at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, arriving on a chartered Al-Buraq Airlines flight.

The returnees included 67 adult females, 55 adult males, 24 female children, 18 male children, and 16 infants. Upon arrival, the Nigerian Immigration Service conducted biometric profiling to ensure proper documentation, while various government agencies provided essential humanitarian support to help them reintegrate into society.

According to NEMA, this operation reflects the IOM’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding the rights and dignity of Nigerian migrants abroad. The latest evacuation highlights the efforts to assist those in need, offering them a fresh start after facing challenging circumstances.
