Iran has issued a strong warning to Israel regarding any attacks on its vital infrastructure, particularly its nuclear and oil sites. Following recent missile strikes from Iran, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi emphasized that any assault on Iranian facilities would lead to a robust retaliation.

Araghchi’s comments came after Israel announced its intention to respond to an October 1 missile attack that targeted its territory, marking the second such incident in just six months. He further clarified on Monday that Iran does not desire war in the region, despite the rising tensions.

U.S. President Joe Biden also advised Israel against launching strikes on Iran’s oil installations, noting that such actions could escalate the conflict. General Rassul Sanairad of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps highlighted that any attack on Iran’s nuclear or energy infrastructure would cross a critical “red line.”

Sanairad’s remarks followed Israeli threats and came amid discussions among Iranian political leaders about potential changes in the country’s nuclear policy.

In the past, Iran has maintained that its nuclear ambitions are entirely peaceful, although the International Atomic Energy Agency reported that the nation has accelerated its production of 60% enriched uranium, close to military-grade levels. Enrichment of approximately 90% is required for weaponization.

Iran insists it does not seek to develop nuclear weapons. However, General Sanairad warned that any attack on nuclear facilities would influence Iran’s response significantly.

The backdrop of this escalating tension includes Iran’s recent missile barrage in retaliation for the deaths of key figures from Hezbollah and Hamas, for which Tehran has blamed Israel. Israel has yet to comment on the accusations regarding its involvement in the attacks.
