Veteran Nollywood stars, Kanayo O. Kanayo and Madam Saje, are set to receive the prestigious ‘Lifetime Achievement’ awards at the 2024 Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards. This recognition highlights their lasting impact and enduring legacy within the Nigerian film industry.

Seun Oloketuyi, the founder of the BON Awards, made the announcement in a statement on Friday, emphasizing the significance of honoring these legends during their lifetime. “Why must we wait until our movie heroes are dead to give them awards? Posthumous awards are meaningful, but it’s better for recipients to receive recognition during their lifetime,” he stated.

Kanayo O. Kanayo and Madam Saje have been influential figures in Nollywood, inspiring new generations while staying relevant throughout their careers. Their dedication and impact made them the ideal recipients of this year’s award.

The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on November 24 at the Sugar Factory Film Studios in Ilorin, Kwara State. Previous recipients of the BON ‘Lifetime Achievement’ award include Toyin Adegbola, Madam Kofo, and Adebayo Salami.
