The National Examinations Council (NECO) has confirmed that all 72,138 examiners involved in the 2024 School-Based Senior School Certificate Examination have received their full allowances. The payment process, which started on October 4, 2024, has been completed successfully, ensuring all involved parties have been compensated as per the Council’s payment schedule.

According to a statement by NECO’s Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, Azeez Sani, the payments were made on a bank-by-bank basis to ensure smoother reconciliation. As of November 13, 2024, the Council clarified that any earlier issues regarding incorrect bank details provided by some examiners had been rectified, and all payments have now cleared through the 24 banks involved.

NECO also addressed rumors circulating on social media, specifically false claims that the Council had intentionally withheld payments to the examiners. The Council strongly advised that any concerns should be directed to NECO directly rather than spreading misinformation.

The Council expressed its gratitude to the examiners and other ad hoc staff for their commitment to the successful administration of the exams, reaffirming that it recognizes their vital role in the process.
