Okpebholo and Idahosa Sworn in as Edo Governor and Deputy

Monday Okpebholo was officially sworn in as the new Governor of Edo State, marking a leadership transition as he succeeds outgoing Governor Godwin Obaseki, who recently concluded his second term. Taking the oath of office alongside him, Deputy Governor Idahosa pledged to support Okpebholo in efforts to uplift the state and serve its residents.

The inauguration ceremony was held at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, where Edo State’s Chief Justice, Daniel Okungbowa, administered the oath to both Okpebholo and Idahosa. In their remarks, the new leaders committed to upholding the constitution and prioritizing the welfare of Edo’s citizens.

Notable attendees included Vice President Kashim Shettima, Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, who serves as Chairman of the Governors’ Forum, and Philip Shaibu, the reinstated deputy governor of Edo State. Several APC governors and other dignitaries from across Nigeria were also present to witness the significant event.

This new administration has set expectations for renewed energy and focus on the growth and development of Edo State.
