Swift Response Averts Tragedy: No Lives Lost in Abuja Tanker Explosion

The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) confirmed that no casualties resulted from a serious fire outbreak on Monday night, September 23, 2024, at Imani Roundabout in Maitama, Abuja.
According to SP Josephine Adeh, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Public Relations Officer, the blaze was sparked by a collision between a fully loaded Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) tanker and a Toyota Sienna space bus around 7:50 pm.

The rapid response from the FCT Police Command and the Federal Fire Service (FFS) played a critical role in containing the situation. SP Adeh emphasized that police patrol units from Maitama, Wuse, and Central Police Station swiftly arrived at the scene, rescued victims, and assisted in extinguishing the flames.
Although there were no fatalities, three individuals—Idris Mohammed, Suleiman Gimba, and Adamu Isiayku—suffered injuries and were rushed to Maitama District Hospital for immediate medical attention.
