Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has expressed deep sorrow following a deadly truck accident in the Aiyetoro area of Epe, Lagos State, on Monday, 11 November 2024. In his message shared on social media, Governor Sanwo-Olu extended heartfelt condolences to the families affected by the tragic incident.

Reports indicate that the accident was caused by a cement truck that suffered a brake failure while descending from Ita-Opo. The truck collided with a commercial tricycle and a parked Toyota Camry before crashing into a market. The incident tragically claimed at least three lives, with others reported injured.

Governor Sanwo-Olu wrote, “I wish to extend my heartfelt condolences in light of the tragic traffic accident that occurred in the Aiyetoro area of Epe, Lagos State, yesterday. With deep sorrow, I extend my sympathies to the families of those affected. I also pray for the departed souls and for the speedy recovery of those injured.”

The Governor further added, “May the families find solace in the love and support surrounding them, and may the cherished memories of their loved ones bring them some comfort as they navigate their grief.”
