Real Madrid’s star winger, Vinícius Júnior, has been ruled out of the upcoming Champions League match against Liverpool due to a hamstring injury, the club confirmed on Monday. The Brazilian forward will miss not only the crucial match at Anfield but also the upcoming encounter with Atalanta on December 10.

According to the club’s statement, “After undergoing tests today, Vinícius Júnior has been diagnosed with a hamstring injury in his left leg by Real Madrid’s medical team.”

The injury comes as a setback for the 24-year-old, who has been in exceptional form this season, netting eight goals in 13 La Liga appearances and scoring four goals in as many Champions League matches. His performance has been impressive, even outshining summer signing Kylian Mbappé at times. The Brazilian also finished second in the 2024 Ballon d’Or voting.
