Dr. Doyin Okupe, a former presidential spokesperson, has commended Vice President Kashim Shettima, calling him one of the most brilliant and articulate politicians from Northern Nigeria. In a post shared on his X account (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, Okupe expressed his admiration for Shettima after observing him more closely since he assumed the vice presidency.

Okupe wrote, “During the GEJ administration, I wouldn’t have considered myself a friend of VP Alhaji Shettima. However, since his elevation to the role of Vice President, I’ve had the chance to examine his character more deeply. He stands out as one of the brightest, most eloquent, and articulate political figures from the North.”

Okupe, who once served as the Director-General of the Labour Party’s Presidential Campaign Council, resigned from the party in January 2024 due to ideological differences following the 2023 election.
