Super Eagles defender Ola Aina has confidently stated that the team aims for nothing less than victory in their upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Libya. As Nigeria prepares for the crucial doubleheader, Aina emphasized that they expect to win both matches and secure their place in the tournament.

Nigeria, three-time African champions, will face off against Libya in their third AFCON qualifying match on Friday. The first leg will take place at home, with the Super Eagles later traveling to Benghazi for the return leg on October 15. While Nigeria is the clear favorite, having a stronger squad, past struggles against smaller teams are a reminder to stay cautious.

Despite this, Aina, currently in peak form, remains confident that Nigeria will secure all six points. Speaking to NFF TV, he expressed the pressure the team feels as a football powerhouse. “We are expected to beat everybody, that’s the pressure we put on ourselves because we’re a big nation and a good team,” Aina said. “We must go and win both games and come out with all six points, by God’s grace.”

If Nigeria succeeds in securing victories in both matches, it will place them on the verge of qualifying for the 2025 AFCON.
