Air Peace Refutes Claims of Windshield Shattering Incident at Abuja Airport

Air Peace, one of Nigeria’s leading airlines, has denied reports claiming that a windshield on one of its aircraft shattered during landing at the Abuja Airport. The flight in question was traveling from Akure, the capital of Ondo State, to Abuja on Monday.

In an official statement, Air Peace management addressed the allegations, stating:

“We are aware of a report regarding a windshield crack on an Air Peace flight from Akure to Abuja, which allegedly ’caused panic among passengers.’ However, this claim is completely untrue.”

The airline clarified that the flight landed smoothly without any incident. The statement further explained:

“The outer layer of the First Officer’s front windshield developed a crack, which was promptly identified by the cockpit crew. At no point was the safety of the passengers or the flight compromised. The flight operated normally, landing safely in Abuja with no issues. After landing, the pilots performed the usual checks and reported the cracked outer layer to the engineers, who immediately began replacing the windshield.”

Air Peace expressed disappointment over the false report, stating: “It is unacceptable to spread misinformation aimed at tarnishing the reputation of the airline when there was no panic or unsafe event during the flight. Such falsehoods should be discouraged.”

The airline reassured the public that it adheres to the highest safety standards, emphasizing: “Air Peace will never compromise the safety of its passengers and remains committed to maintaining top-tier safety practices in all operations.”
