APGA Claims Total Victory in Anambra Local Government Elections

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has achieved a remarkable triumph in the local government elections held on September 28 in Anambra State, winning every chairmanship and councillorship position across all 21 local government areas.

Genevieve Osakwe, the Chairperson of the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC), shared the results at a press conference in Awka. She characterized the election as free and fair, highlighting the meticulous process of collating and analyzing the results to ensure their accuracy.

Osakwe remarked that no opposition candidates or their representatives were present during the announcement of results at the ANSIEC office. She praised the citizens of Anambra for their enthusiastic participation and expressed gratitude to security agencies for their role in maintaining peace and order throughout the election period.

“This announcement confirms the results of the chairmanship and councillorship elections held on September 28, 2024. We took significant care in collating and analyzing the results to prevent any errors. All scores and party affiliations were disclosed at the polling units yesterday, and we are here today to officially validate the recorded outcomes. The elections were conducted at all polling units in Anambra State and were deemed free, fair, and credible,” she stated.
