Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has ordered contractors to return to work and begin immediate repairs of damaged roads within the Benin metropolis. This directive came just a day after his inauguration, as part of his commitment to swiftly address infrastructure challenges in the state capital.

The governor issued the order during an inspection of Upper Mission Extension Road near Aduwawa Junction and the Ramat Park Axis. He expressed frustration over the poor condition of these roads, promising that repairs would commence without delay. Governor Okpebholo emphasized that his administration is focused on delivering the promised benefits of good governance to the people of Edo State.

Key areas identified for immediate roadwork include the 7.5km Temboga Road, Lucky Way Junction by Aduwawa, and the Ramat Park-Slope Axis. Additionally, contractors are being mobilized to repair Eyaen Road and the Obadan Junction along the Benin-Auchi Expressway, all of which are critical routes for residents and commuters alike.
