Egoras, a Nigerian startup, has launched an initiative to sell 50kg bags of rice at a reduced price of N45,000, aiming to provide much-needed relief to families struggling with soaring food costs. As food prices continue to rise due to inflation, currency issues, and supply chain disruptions, this move is set to make a significant social impact.

Egoras’ CEO, Ugoji Harry, told CoreTv that this effort, which closely resembles a charitable contribution, is designed to support Nigerians amid food inflation. “We recognize the financial strain on households, especially when food becomes unaffordable,” Harry stated. “Offering locally produced rice at N45,000 per 50kg bag is our way of making sure more families can access basic food items.”

As inflation rates exceed 30%, initiatives like this could provide timely support for Nigerian consumers facing economic hardship, ensuring greater access to affordable rice and easing the burden of high food prices.
