First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has partnered with EStars to bring esports education to Nigerian schools, helping students develop critical skills for success in the digital age. The initiative, which targets children aged 7 to 14 across primary and secondary schools, aims to introduce essential life skills such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving through gaming.

Launched in Nigeria on July 16, the EStars platform offers a structured and engaging way for students to learn while playing. The platform is designed to teach vital skills that are often overlooked in traditional classrooms. Through its fun and safe environment, students are encouraged to engage in team-based activities and explore potential career pathways in esports.

Mrs. Yemisi Edun, Managing Director of FCMB, emphasized the value of the partnership: “EStars has brought a fun and innovative way to advance students’ knowledge and life skills. This platform allows schools to harness the power of play to cultivate a love for learning.” She also highlighted FCMB’s commitment to empowering the next generation, stating, “We are not just preparing them for the future but empowering them to shape it.”

The EStars platform goes beyond just gaming. It includes tools for tournament management, team collaboration, and integrating esports into the school curriculum. With coaching and training resources, it ensures students develop the skills needed for success in esports and related fields.

EStars’ founder, Mags Byrne, shared her vision for the partnership, saying, “Our mission is to empower young minds with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive in the esports industry and beyond. We aim to bridge the gap between traditional education and the booming esports sector, offering students valuable skills and career opportunities.”

This initiative aligns with FCMB’s ongoing efforts to foster youth development and education in Nigeria, preparing students for the challenges and opportunities of a rapidly changing world.
