The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced January 1, 2025, as the final date for intending pilgrims to complete their Hajj payments. This deadline ensures compliance with the 2025 Hajj Calendar set by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), which requires states to submit pilgrims’ details by January 7, 2025.

According to a statement by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Sulaiman A. Dederi, the directive was emphasized by the Director-General of the Board, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, during a meeting with board employees and Local Government Hajj Centre Officers. Danbappa highlighted the significance of timely payments in ensuring a smooth and efficient Hajj operation.

“The deadline aligns with NAHCON’s requirements to ensure all states meet their obligations. Adhering to this timeline is crucial for the success of the 2025 Hajj exercise,” Danbappa stated.

He expressed concern over the slow pace of Hajj seat sales in Kano State and called on local government officers to intensify efforts to achieve their seat allocation targets. To address the issue, he urged the officers to adopt innovative strategies to boost sales and meet the board’s commitments within the designated timeframe.

Intending pilgrims have been advised to finalize their payments on or before January 1, 2025. The board warned that delays or incomplete payments might result in exclusion from participating in the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage.
