The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has officially approved the 2024 Supplementary Budget amounting to N156.687 billion, which will be financed from the Consolidated Revenue Fund. The bill, titled “the Supplementary/Amended Appropriation Bill, 2024,” was passed to ensure the continuation and completion of essential services and ongoing projects throughout the state.

Speaker Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau made the announcement during today’s session in Lafia, explaining that the supplementary budget would support the state’s development goals once signed by the Governor. It includes crucial funding to finalize several infrastructure projects and improve public services.

Following the approval, the revised recurrent expenditure now stands at N150.310 billion, while capital expenditure has been adjusted to N206.257 billion. With these changes, the total 2024 budget for Nasarawa State has increased to N356.567 billion.

Rt. Hon. Abel Yakubu Bala, the Deputy Majority Leader, presented the motion for the bill’s third reading, with support from Minority Leader Hon. Luka Iliya Zhekaba. The motion was passed unanimously, and the Clerk of the House was directed to prepare the final bill for the Governor’s assent.

This development builds on the initial approval of a N199.8 billion budget in December 2023, ensuring that Nasarawa State will have the necessary financial resources to meet its growing demands throughout the year.
