A significant crackdown on cybercrime in Delta State has led to the arrest of over 100 young individuals linked to Internet fraud. Soldiers from the 3 Battalion of the Nigerian Army, based in the Army Estate at Effurun, launched the operation targeting HK “Hustle Kingdom” School, a facility allegedly dedicated to training would-be cybercriminals.

The Army Estate, a residential community for retired military personnel and civilians in Uvwie, was under scrutiny following intelligence reports about the existence of a Yahoo training school. After months of careful surveillance, military personnel executed the raid early Saturday morning, apprehending more than 100 suspects. The operation also resulted in the arrest of the alleged owner of the training facility and several of his accomplices.

“Soldiers acted on intelligence reports,” a source confirmed regarding the operation.

Following the raid, the suspects were transferred to the police in Ekpan, Uvwie, for further prosecution after a thorough profiling process conducted by the military authorities at the 3 Battalion.

SP Bright Edafe, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Delta State Command, has confirmed the arrests but refrained from providing further details about the operation.
