Violent clash between secondary school students in Ilọrin, Kwara State, left more than 10 students injured on Monday. The altercation occurred at around 11:00 am when students from Government High School and Government Day Secondary School, both located in Adeta, became involved in a fight stemming from a prior disagreement.

The violence has raised concerns about rising tensions between the schools, with some attributing the clash to issues such as cultism and struggles for dominance among the students.
Peter Amogbonjaye, Press Secretary for the Ministry of Education, mentioned that a formal statement addressing the situation was forthcoming. Meanwhile, police spokeswoman, Toun Ejire-Adeyemi (DSP), confirmed the incident, stating that several suspects were arrested during the police’s random intervention. An investigation is still ongoing to determine the full cause of the violence.
