Vice President Kashim Shettima left Abuja on Wednesday for Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, to participate in the opening of the International Exhibition of Extractive and Energy Resources (SIREXE) 2024 conference. Scheduled from November 27 to December 2, 2024, the event will be held at the Abidjan Exhibition Centre.

Shettima’s visit is at the invitation of Tiémoko Meyliet Koné, Vice President of Côte d’Ivoire, according to a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Communication, Mr. Stanley Nkwocha.

SIREXE 2024 is an important international conference organized by the Government of Côte d’Ivoire. It will focus on the sustainable development strategies and policies for the extractive and energy industries. During the event, Vice President Shettima will present Nigeria’s experience in the fields of hydrocarbon exploration and production.

Shettima is expected to return to Abuja later today, following his participation in the conference’s opening ceremony.
