Tinubu and Governors Offer Heartfelt Condolences to Akwa Ibom’s Umo Eno After His Wife’s Death

In a touching show of solidarity, President Bola Tinubu has conveyed his condolences to Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno following the passing of his wife, Patience Eno. This unfortunate news was announced by the state Commissioner for Information, Ini Ememobong, revealing that Patience Eno died on September 26, 2024, in a hospital surrounded by her family.
Through a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu expressed sympathies on behalf of the Federal Government to both the Eno family and the people of Akwa Ibom. He acknowledged the deep loss of the state’s First Lady, who played an integral role in supporting Governor Eno’s administration.
President Tinubu praised Patience Eno for her humility, resilience, and unwavering support as a devoted spouse to a visionary leader and ordained gospel minister. “Through her ‘Golden Initiative for All,’ she demonstrated her commitment to serving the people of Akwa Ibom with love and honesty, leaving an enduring legacy that will inspire generations to come. Her selfless dedication to uplifting women, children, and the vulnerable will forever be a cherished part of Akwa Ibom’s history,” he stated.
The Southern Governors’ Forum, chaired by Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, also paid tribute to Pastor Patience Umo Eno, highlighting her as a remarkable woman and a strong support for her husband’s achievements in both the public and private sectors.

“We extend our deepest condolences to Governor Umo Eno on the tragic passing of his beloved wife, Pastor (Mrs.) Patience Umo Eno. She was not only a devoted partner but also a source of inspiration for many in Akwa Ibom State and throughout Nigeria,” the forum expressed.
Pastor (Mrs.) Patience Umo Eno devoted her life to serving others, exemplifying compassion, faith, and resilience. Her tireless efforts to uplift the less privileged and advocate for the welfare of women and children have left a profound impact. She was a beacon of hope whose warmth and kindness touched countless lives.
During this difficult time, the Southern Governors’ Forum stands in solidarity with Governor Umo Eno and the entire Umo Eno family. “The pain of losing a cherished spouse is indescribable.
