President Bola Tinubu has appointed Daniel Bwala, a former spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar’s campaign, as his Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications. The announcement was made on Thursday through a statement signed by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

The statement, titled “President Tinubu Appoints Three Directors-General and One Special Adviser on Public Communication”, also confirmed the appointments of three new Directors-General for key national agencies.

Bwala, described by the Presidency as a lawyer and public affairs analyst, will play a critical role in managing media and communications at the State House. His appointment signals Tinubu’s strategic outreach to diverse political actors.

Other Key Appointments

The President also named Olawale Olopade as Director-General of the National Sports Commission. Olopade, a seasoned sports administrator, previously served as the Ogun State Commissioner for Youth and Sports and chaired the organizing committee for the 2024 National Sports Festival.

Dr. Abisoye Fagade, a marketing communication expert and founder of Sodium Brand Solutions, was appointed Director-General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism.

Additionally, Dr. Adebowale Adedokun will now lead the Bureau of Public Procurement. Adedokun brings experience from his former role as Director of Research, Training, and Strategic Planning at the same bureau.

In the statement, Tinubu urged the newly appointed officials to deliver their responsibilities with “dedication, patriotism, and excellence.” These appointments reflect his administration’s commitment to leveraging diverse expertise to drive national progress.
